A Vision Opens Its Doors
Lobias Murray Christian Academy opened September 10, 1979.
A VISION ROOTED IN FAITH. A LEGACY OF LEARNING.
Our PurposeHis vision opened doors.
His vision opened doors.
His legacy still does.
Apostle Dr. Lobias Murray was a man of unlimited vision and unshakable faith in God.
The founder of Full Gospel Holy Temple Church, Inc. and Lobias Murray Christian Academy proclaimed, “I have a VISION!” while preaching during an annual convocation in the mid-1970s. On September 10, 1979, that vision was revealed: the ribbon was cut, and over 100 eager-eyed students entered the academy at 330 Ann Arbor in Dallas, Texas.
Although Apostle Murray leaves a legacy of holiness, his passion was young people. He envisioned a generation who would love God and impact the world through service and leadership.
The academy’s administrators and teachers instilled Christian principles, work ethics, and life skills, helping produce career-minded, focused, and accomplished young men and women. The scholarship fund continues that commitment.

A reflection on faith and education
“I advise no one to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign . . . I am much afraid that schools will prove to be the great gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth.”
— Martin Luther, as quoted on the original fund website
